Nokia has just released the first major firmware update PR1.1 – v2.2009.51-1 for the Nokia N900 following the minor update that was released earlier this week. The new firmware brings along a host of new features and usability improvements including full compatibility with certain SIM cards from service provider 3. Mail for Exchange has been updated with support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and Ovi Maps sees improvements made to the search performance and route calculation. If you already installed the first update you will automatically receive a notification that a new update is available for their device. If you prefer not to update to the 89.5 MB firmware via FOTA (Firmware-Over-The-Air), you can also install the update using NSU (Nokia Software Updater) on your PC.
