The Nokia Beta Labs today announced the release of Nokia Diagnostics Beta for Symbian^3 users. Nokia diagnostics has been available for S60 3rd and 5th Edition users for quite some time now, and the new updated versions brings Symbian^3 compatibility. Hit the jump for more.

Check out this awesome visibility test of the Nokia E7‘s ClearBlack display, and how it fairs in the real world. As you will see from the video, the visibility in daylight has significantly improved when put next to the likes of the Nokia N900. Hit the jump to see it for yourself. I really hope Nokia continue to use this technology on all future devices, whether touch or non-touch.

As we’ve seen in the past Nokia handsets are put thorough a rather vigorous reliability test in order to guarantee the reliability of that device before they go on sale. This was no different for the Nokia N8, which was put through its paces in a drop test at the Nokia Testing Centre in Beijing. Nokia put every new handset through almost 200 endurance tests to ensure they’ll survive in the real world. Check out the video after the break and find out just what Nokia do in these tests.

When taking a step back from the fast growing mobile devices industry, we can see that technology has progressed far beyond what we initially expected. Nokia Diagnostics is a new experimental application that makes it easy to diagnose and troubleshoot situations on your mobile phone by running various tests. “Our intention is to create a solution for helping millions of Nokia users diagnose, troubleshoot, and configure their devices with ease on their own. We believe that exposing this idea to the Beta Labs community and sharing this application prototype would help us realise just that.” Check out the video tutorial after the break.
