“Symbian^3” Articles

Check out this video demo of the first release of components for Symbian Technology. The preview applications contain Qt Quick components, reference API documentation, components gallery for Symbian, music player and Flickr demo applications and example code snippets and documentation. I love the overlay status bar in the top right corner of the screen, hope this materialises in upcoming updates and devices, as it frees up some valuable screen space. Its minor things like this that make the bigger overall difference. Check out the video after the break.

Nokia Situations Beta has just been updated for Symbian^3 devices to v2.51. Nokia Situations basically allows you to manually define situations, like “In a meeting” or “Sleeping”, and set how you want your device to act. With the application running in the background, your device automatically senses the situation you are in and adapts to it according to your preferences. Check out the full changelog, along with a video demo and download links, after the break.
