
Check out this video demo of the first release of Qt Quick components for Symbian Technology. The preview applications contain Qt Quick components, reference API documentation, components gallery for Symbian, music player and Flickr demo applications and example code snippets and documentation. I love the overlay status bar in the top right corner of the screen, hope this materialises in upcoming updates and devices, as it frees up some valuable screen space. Its minor things like this that make the bigger overall difference. Check out the video after the break.

The Nokia E72 has today received a new firmware update taking it up to v54.005. The new firmware includes many core software updates to improve and enhance the stability of the operating system, and should be available to download for many of you immediately. If you handset does however have a non-generic product code, you may need to wait a while before it becomes available. Check out the full changelog after the break.

Nokia has announced a new typeface and a new look for promotional materials in a bid to put out a new brand image that’s simpler, fresher and stronger than before. Check out the sneak preview after the break where you can gain a rough idea of how the future typeface may appear.

Previously we brought you a few video previews of the upcoming PR 2.0 Firmware being demoed on a Nokia C7. This new update has received a lot of press lately as its apparently bringing 50+ significant changes to Symbian^3, and fixes many issues a lot of people are reporting with the OS.
