
The Nokia 5800XM has also just received a new firmware update taking it up to v50.0.005. The new firmware brings many updates and improvements to your Nokia handset, and although there is no official changelog, word has it that this new update comes with preloaded maps data along with Ovi Maps v3.3 with free voice guided turn-by-turn navigation. New firmware updates also contain more general bug fixes and optimizations necessary for the software on your device to perform properly, therefore we recommend you always keep your device up to date. The Nokia N97 has just received a new firmware update taking it up to v21.0.102. There is no official changelog however reports suggest that the new update includes a mass memory content update feature for the newer models, desktop installation files of Ovi Suite 2.0 and Ovi Player, and preloaded maps data along with the new Ovi Maps v3.3 with free voice guided turn-by-turn navigation. New firmware updates also generally contain bug fixes and optimizations necessary for the software on your device to perform properly, therefore we recommend you always keep your device up to date. Nokia has finished its scheduled maintenance of the Ovi Store and has provided us with a quick update as to what changes have been made. The main focus for this update was to make it easier to browse, search and discover content, improve the quality of content reviews (e.g. change from 3 to 5 star rating system) and provide more detailed product information to help consumers decide on what to buy. Opera Software has recently announced that both of its mobile web browsers for Symbian smartphones have been updated out of beta. Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5 are currently the best 3rd party mobile web browsing solutions available for Nokia S60 handsets, and the final version release puts all the necessary finishing touches on the Opera mobile-browsing duo. Nokia Messaging for Social Networks is a developmental branch of Nokia’s extremely competent, Nokia Messaging Service. With Messaging for Social Networks, Nokia has implemented a great solution connecting both Twitter and Facebook to the Nokia Messaging Client. You can view posts, update your status and comment on messages directly from the application, and as it’s currently still in the Beta phase, more social networks will gradually become available.
