Nokia has announced that Sebastian Nystrom will succeed Alberto Torres as new Head of the Meego team at Nokia. Alberto left the company when Nokia announced the partnership with Microsoft at MWC in February and so Sebastian has now been appointed to take over. Nokia has also announced that a Meego Developer Edition will become available for the Nokia N900. More details after the break.

Nokia has today launched its lowest ranked device in the Xseries line-up in the form of the bold, bright and very loud Nokia X1-00. This music lovers’ handset sports a huge speaker on the back of the device rated at 106 phon, apparently enough volume to rattle your window frame. With an estimated retail price of around €35 EUR, the Nokia X1 will be available in select markets in April. Hit the jump to find out more.

Digia has announced that it is set to acquire the Qt commercial licensing and services business from Nokia. Through the proposed acquisition, around 3500 desktop and embedded customer companies from various industries are targeted to be transferred to Digia, with the transaction expected to close by the end of March 2011. Finally here’s one extremely exciting preview for the future. With no estimated release date, Microsoft also announced that Windows Phone 7 will eventually receive Xbox Kinect support, allowing users to play interactive games using their Windows Phone powered handset.
