The Nokia E71, Nokia E66 and Nokia E63 have all recently received new firmware updates taking them to v410.21.010. All three devices can now make use of the free voice-guided navigation provided courtesy of Ovi Maps 3.3. The firmware update changelog is pretty intense, so hit the jump to have a look at what exactly the new update brings. New firmware updates also contain more general bug fixes and optimizations necessary for the software on your device to perform properly, therefore we recommend you always keep your device up to date. The new firmware will gradually make its way round to you over the coming weeks depending on your region and product code. Just a quick note: neither of these devices support UDP (User Data Preservation), therefore please ensure you have fully backed up your data on both your memory card as well as your device before proceeding with the update.

Nokia has set up a countdown on an event page tagged as ‘Everyone Connect’. We’re not too sure as to what exactly this countdown may be about, however rumours indicate something to do with messaging, possibly an Ovi Maps/Nokia Messaging integration. More rumours are guaranteed to emerge within the next 20 or so hours that are left, so in the meantime let us know what you think it could be about after the jump, or maybe what you think it should be about.

With Messaging for Social Networks, Nokia has implemented a great solution connecting both Twitter and Facebook to the Nokia Messaging Client. You can view posts, update your status and comment on messages directly from the application, and as it’s currently still in the Beta phase, more social networks will gradually become available. The Nokia Messaging team have been hard at work over this Winter, and have today announced that the third and final update of the Winter 2010 updates is complete. To begin with the client was updated for S60 5th Edition devices. This update was available as Nokia Messaging 10.2 in the Software Update application last week. Later, there was a significant update that changed the way emails were stored on the device, which was automatically pushed into Nokia Messaging 10.2. The final update sees Nokia Messaging automatically consolidate accounts when the user adds an email address that belongs to another Nokia Messaging account. Nokia Messaging now always aligns the Nokia Messaging password with the Email Service Provider (ESP) password. Read on to find out more about each of the updates.
