
At the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing in April 2010, the new software platform MeeGo was demonstrated on a variety of Internet connected devices from a netbook to Internet TV to smartphone and digital coupon machine with RFID. MeeGo 1.0 is the first version that comes from merging Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo, so check out the videos after the jump to see what kind of things you can expect from MeeGo in the near future.

After all the OS switching in such a short period of time, it seems that Nokia’s new MeeGo OS is starting to gain some headway. Earlier today, Imad Sousou, Director of Intel’s Open Source Technology Centre, announced that the MeeGo development is now officially underway. After opening the repositories and moving all the ongoing development work into the open, developers can now begin to work their magic. Unfortunately if you own the Nokia N900, this doesn’t mean you can begin using MeeGo today, however the first public release of MeeGo is set to be unveiled in May.

The guys over at IntoMobile have got their hands on the Nokia Booklet 3G and have provided a quick overview of its hardware. The Nokia Booklet 3G is Nokia’s first entry into the Netbook market, and to be fair, it hasn’t failed to disappoint. Up until now, Nokia’s booklet has only been available to pre-order in the UK, but now you can purchase it directly from Nokia for a rather suprising £649.
