The Nokia C5 has received a minor firmware update taking it up from v061.005 to v062.001. There’s no official changelog, but the new firmware is thought to bring more general performance and usability improvements. The Nokia C7 has recently received its first firmware update PR 1.1, taking it up to v13.0.16. This PR 1.1 is also headed to other Symbian^3 devices such as the Nokia N8 and Nokia C6-01. The new firmware should be available for most of you right now, although it may take a while for it to become available to everyone. Hit the jump to find out what’s new.

The Maemo Community Council and Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh have announced today the launch of a Maemo 5 Community Seamless Software Update Project (CSSU). CSSU is currently being developed by the Maemo Community, for the Maemo community, and it aims to deliver fixes which can’t be delivered easily through Extras, such as core Nokia N900 packages. Nokia has also released a new firmware update v053.001 for both the Nokia E52 and Nokia E72. This is just a minor update which most likely brings a few bug fixes more than anything else. Nokia has released a new firmware update v40.0.003 for both the Nokia 5230 and 5233. There is also a new firmware v40.6.003 for the Nokia 5235. It’s a pretty big update from the previous v21.8.005. The new firmware should be available for most of you right now, however it may take some time for the rest of you, depending on your service provider or region. New firmwares contain important updates for your handset to function properly so we highly recommend you update your device. Check out the changelog after the jump.
