Nokia’s Everyone Connect campaign was based around a new Nokia Messaging solution that lets you email, chat and connect with your favourite social networking sites instantly from your device. This new service was rolled out on three brand new, messaging-centric devices, the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and the Nokia E5. The question was then posed as to how you use your device to stay connected. At the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing in April 2010, the new software platform MeeGo was demonstrated on a variety of Internet connected devices from a netbook to Internet TV to smartphone and digital coupon machine with RFID. MeeGo 1.0 is the first version that comes from merging Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo, so check out the videos after the jump to see what kind of things you can expect from MeeGo in the near future.

During Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Rightware demonstrated its ‘Mobile App Store’ application running on various mobile devices. Mobile App Store is designed and implemented using the Kanzi user interface solution that enables designers to quickly have their applications running in different target devices. Key advantages of the Kanzi solution is “design-once, deploy everywhere” cross-platform support for the leading mobile operating systems, including Android, Blackberry, Linux, Maemo, Moblin, iPhone OS, Palm Web OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile. Kanzi solution is build on top of industry standard OpenGL ES graphics API. Check out the demo of the app running on the Nokia N900 after the break. WeatherBug’s Chris Brozenick demonstrates how the WeatherBug application works on the Nokia N900. WeatherBug provides instant access to local current conditions, extended forecast, radar and satellite images, severe weather alerts and more for thousands of locations around the world. The Nokia N86 8MP is still Nokia’s current camera flagship device, with its 8 megapixel CMOS sensor and variable aperture that challenges standalone digital cameras. The fast mechanical shutter ensures shorter latencies and less motion blur and processing times have been more than halved in comparison with many other camera phones. Not only is the hardware impressive but taking a look at the software built in to the camera application, there are some pretty cool features including a Time Lapse function. Mspede for Maemo has just landed on our Maemo 5 Applications page. Mspede is a game in which you must tap the lights that blink, as quickly as you can. The longer you play, the faster they blink, so you need to speed up your reflexes in order to score big.
