
Nokia has today announced its latest flagship – The Nokia N8. This intuitive device brings Nokia right back into 2010 with the latest features that connect people, places and services that matter most. With the Nokia N8, people can create compelling content, connect to their favorite social networks and enjoy on-demand Web TV programs and Ovi Store apps. Bluetooth 3.0, Symbian^3 OS, HDMI Out, 12 megapixel camera, and the 16:9 3.5″ Capacitive OLED display with multi-touch capabilities is just the tip of the iceberg. Nokia’s Everyone Connect campaign was based around a new Nokia Messaging solution that lets you email, chat and connect with your favourite social networking sites instantly from your device. This new service was rolled out on three brand new, messaging-centric devices, the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and the Nokia E5. The question was then posed as to how you use your device to stay connected. The new firmware updates continue with the Nokia E72, that has just been updated to v31.023. The new firmware brings many new features, improvements and updates including the highly requested Internet Radio application. New firmware updates also contain more general bug fixes and optimizations necessary for the software on your device to perform properly, therefore we recommend you always keep your device up to date. The new firmware will gradually make its way round to you over the coming weeks depending on your region and product code. Ovi Contacts web has recently been updated and now lets you use your contacts in both Ovi Mail and Ovi Suite, with more Ovi services to follow suit. Most of the new Ovi Contacts work was done under the covers, but you can see minor UI changes that make your first use easier; for example, contact and group creation now has better usability, and the Contacts list view now allows you to see and sort 100 contacts at one time. The product has gone through a public beta and revamped with user generated feedback in mind.

The Nokia E71, Nokia E66 and Nokia E63 have all recently received new firmware updates taking them to v410.21.010. All three devices can now make use of the free voice-guided navigation provided courtesy of Ovi Maps 3.3. At the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing in April 2010, the new software platform MeeGo was demonstrated on a variety of Internet connected devices from a netbook to Internet TV to smartphone and digital coupon machine with RFID. MeeGo 1.0 is the first version that comes from merging Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo, so check out the videos after the jump to see what kind of things you can expect from MeeGo in the near future.

The Nokia E5 is designed for those that want to be productive in both their professional and personal lives, the Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 based Nokia E5, follows the successful blueprint of devices such as the Nokia E72 and Nokia E63. The Nokia E5 combines high quality business features with all of the personal networking and entertainment capabilities that a busy professional expects from a smartphone. At £160 before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia E5 is expected to be available in Q3 2010.
