The Nokia N8 is by far the most anticipated device for all Nokia fans, from the most impressive spec sheet yet, advanced photography features and new Symbian^3 OS. Well, we’ve so far seen leaked images, video functionalities and more, however now we bring you a three part review courtesy of Nokia Itself. In this first video Chris Bennetts, Senior Project Manager at Nokia talks through the Nokia N8’s homescreen, demonstrating the customisable abilities of the handset, true multitasking that makes running multiple apps a breeze, the lighting-fast onscreen keyboard, email and messaging, Internet and browser capabilities and finally maps and navigation. Check out the full walkthrough of the new Nokia N8 after the break, and stay tuned for part two and three next week.

Nokia has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Novarra Inc. Novarra is a privately-held company based in Chicago, and is the provider of a mobile browser and service platform. Novarra will now become an owned subsidiary of Nokia, and this technology will be used by Nokia to deliver enhanced Internet experiences on Nokia mobile devices.

The guys from Nokia’s environmental team have put together a series of videos to show us how using our mobile devices can help us have less impact on the environment. Some interesting stats include how updating your Facebook status once on your PC consumes the same amount of energy as updating it a hundred times on your phone. To put that into perspective, if only ten percent of the one billion plus Nokia users, surfed the web on their mobile instead of their desktop computer for one hour a day, we could avoid over 2.7 million tons on CO2 emissions per year. Opera Software has recently announced that both of its mobile web browsers for Symbian smartphones have been updated out of beta. Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5 are currently the best 3rd party mobile web browsing solutions available for Nokia S60 handsets, and the final version release puts all the necessary finishing touches on the Opera mobile-browsing duo. Silverlight, a cross-browser, cross-platform implementation of the .NET Framework for building media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web on desktop computers, is now officially available for Nokia S60 5th Edition devices such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 Mini. Silverlight includes a runtime that is optimized to display content on memory-constrained devices. Silverlight support for Nokia S60 5th Edition devices includes the ability to view Silverlight applications in the mobile browser. Nokia seems to be making some good headway with its Point & Find project, and today, at a media briefing in San Francisco, Nokia decided to show off its progress. Nokia Point & Find is a free service that enables people on the move to access relevant information and services on the Internet, simply by pointing their mobile phone camera at a real life object. The service combines the first mobile augmented reality browser on S60 devices with a web-based content management tool that allows anyone to create and publish augmented reality experiences.
