ABBYY FotoTranslate is a cracking utility application that not only converts images of text into text using its award winning Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, but also then translates this text into your preferred language. So the next time you come across a road sign or restaurant menu that you can’t quite make sense of, simply snap the text you wish to translate and let ABBYY FotoTranslate do the rest. What’s more is that there is no need for an Internet connection, cellular signal, or even access to any external language resources. The built in dictionary software supports up to 8 languages for recognition and 30 directions for translation. Check out my thoughts after the break.
