Check out this video demo of the first release of Qt Quick components for Symbian Technology. The preview applications contain Qt Quick components, reference API documentation, components gallery for Symbian, music player and Flickr demo applications and example code snippets and documentation. I love the overlay status bar in the top right corner of the screen, hope this materialises in upcoming updates and devices, as it frees up some valuable screen space. Its minor things like this that make the bigger overall difference. Check out the video after the break.

Earlier this month, Aerial Photographer Jason Hawkes set out to capture the UK’s most stunning locations in five days using only the Nokia N8 as his main camera in a project titled HD Horizons. Nokia Situations Beta has just been updated for Symbian^3 devices to v2.51. Nokia Situations basically allows you to manually define situations, like “In a meeting” or “Sleeping”, and set how you want your device to act. With the application running in the background, your device automatically senses the situation you are in and adapts to it according to your preferences. Opera Software recently announce the release of two new web browsers in the form of Opera Mini 6 and Opera Mobile 11, improving features such as scrolling, zooming and of course, sharing. Check out the video promo after the break where you can get all the direct download links too.
