During Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Rightware demonstrated its ‘Mobile App Store’ application running on various mobile devices. Mobile App Store is designed and implemented using the Kanzi user interface solution that enables designers to quickly have their applications running in different target devices. Key advantages of the Kanzi solution is “design-once, deploy everywhere” cross-platform support for the leading mobile operating systems, including Android, Blackberry, Linux, Maemo, Moblin, iPhone OS, Palm Web OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile. Kanzi solution is build on top of industry standard OpenGL ES graphics API. Check out the demo of the app running on the Nokia N900 after the break. Thomas Perl has published a nifty little application for the Nokia N900 called RaeMote. RaeMote is a widget that emulates the Apple infrared remote control for your Mac mini, MacBook or iPod Dock. The application is currently still not refined enough for a public release, however it is expected to hit the Maemo Extras Repository soon. As the release of Symbian^3 draws inevitably close, the anticipation for what Nokia has in store is becoming pretty exciting. Today we managed to get our hands on a couple of very cool videos demonstrating some of the features of the upcoming Symbian^4 OS. The first video takes a quick look at the multiple homescreens, implemented with versatile widget support, similar to that of the Nokia N900. The second video showcases the Photo Gallery application, which is pretty cool and has a sort of thumbnail mini map when viewing photos in full screen. All I can say is that the delay in releasing a new device can only mean that there is something big about to hit us soon, and the excitement is definitely building up here. Check out the video demos at the break, and let us know what you think.
