Nokia Beta Labs have released an updated version of Ovi Maps for Mobile v3.06. This updated Beta brings with it some great enhancement and new features but the most significant addition is the new ‘Update’ feature. During Nokia World 2010, Nokia Research Center demoed some of its future technologies currently in development. The most interesting was the Indoor Navigator, which allows users to navigate indoors by connecting devices to a transmitter within a building that can figure out the angle at which your device is linking from. This was possible thanks to a research concept called Nokia High Accuracy Indoor Positioning technology, the most accurate of its kind in the world. Hit the jump for the video demo.

Nokia has stuck to its word, and has increased the compatibility of Ovi Maps v3.03, which provides free voice guided navigation on Nokia handsets. The announcement today is that you can now utilize both walk and drive navigation on your Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 for absolutely no cost whatsoever. This news comes after the announcement of the Nokia N86 8MP, which also recently joined this exclusive bunch. The compatibility of Ovi Maps v3.03 has now reached around 14 devices, and more and more handsets will gradually be supported.
