The Maemo Community Council and Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh have announced today the launch of a Maemo 5 Community Seamless Software Update Project (CSSU). CSSU is currently being developed by the Maemo Community, for the Maemo community, and it aims to deliver fixes which can’t be delivered easily through Extras, such as core Nokia N900 packages. Hit the jump to find out more.

Currently this project is aimed for power-users, developers, Nokia/Maemo/MeeGo engineers, testers, documentation writers and those willing to risk a re-flash in order to help. However eventually it will become a unique community driven service for all Nokia N900 users.

If you currently own a Nokia N900 and are interested in taking part with the testing phase of this project then click here to find out more.
