Skyfire today announced that they have released version 1.5 for Symbian S60 3rd and 5th Edition. Skyfire is a free alternative web browser for your mobile phone, and version 1.5 now includes full support for high-resolution screens, has a fresh user interface (UI) that is more finger friendly, produces crisper text, allows smoother zooming, and has a full- screen mode that completely maximizes screen real estate. Skyfire is also running a contest in which you can get your hands on a brand new Nokia N97. Details are at the end of the video.

Additionally, Skyfire features a customizable homepage, integrating RSS feeds, Facebook and Twitter feeds, and Gmail, into one convenient stream. The Skyfire start page has been updated with high-resolution text and images.

• Smooth Scrolling: Kinetic scrolling has been enabled to Skyfire. Pan or flick the screen to move in any direction smoothly on touchscreen.
• Full screen mode: For touchscreen, browse in full screen mode with no UI elements on the screen for maximum page visibility.
• Auto-Rotate: Browse in portrait or landscape mode with a simple change of the device orientation.
